Will CBD show up on my drug test?
Short answer–No, CBD will not show up on a drug test since most testing sites are not looking for CBD in your system. A drug test may look for THC, a similar compound to CBD that is the main psychoactive ingredient found in marijuana varieties of cannabis.
Typically, CBD products are made to exclude THC, either through filtering out for THC or from deriving CBD from hemp rather than marijuana, a variety of cannabis that contains less than 0.3% of THC. However, it is still possible to find CBD products that contain THC. So, it is important to read labels to ensure the product you are purchasing has the amount of THC you feel comfortable consuming, whether that be some THC or entirely THC-fee.
If you test positive after taking a CBD product, the test is either a false positive or the CBD product contains traces of THC. It is possible to purchase CBD products that are mis-labeled as THC-free since CBD is not regulated by the FDA. To ensure you are receiving the product you want, look for products that are third-party tested and offer certificates of analysis (COAs). COAs breakdown lab results and provide transparent ingredient compositions. You can find COAs for all of our products on our website. However, it is important to note that trace amounts of THC may still be found if you consume verified CBD products because your body may metabolize CBD in a way that produces a false positive for THC on a drug test. We advise you to always use discretion when using CBD products.
If you consume Reform Botanicals, there’s risk of testing positive because we sell full-spectrum CBD.
